Henry’s Sandwich Station in Fort Lauderdale offers more than your average sandwich and, more importantly, the tastiest truffle grilled cheese I ever did taste. I loved the understated industrial chic atmosphere that lends itself to the hottest area in Lauderdale — Fat Village. Everything felt clean with an authentically hip vibe. I also loved the open kitchen where you can see all the food made fresh right in front of you. We started with the Tomato Basil Soup (loved the finished drizzle of olive oil) and the Beet & Goat Cheese Salad. I was excited to try Henry’s Sandwich shop when I read about the Truffle Grilled Cheese. When Rachel asked if I wanted to try the French Onion Soup Grilled Cheese I about fell over. “Excuse me” I said. You serve a grilled cheese that has the same ingredients as French Onion Soup? Oh. Hell. Yes I want to try. Caramelized onions, aged gruyere on Francisco sour dough? Um, yes please. I have to admit I was more excited about the French Onion Soup grilled cheese than the Truffle, but in a strange turn of events, I ended up loving the Truffle a bit more. I don’t know if it was the white truffle butter, mushrooms or fontina cheese, but it definitely won me over. Now hold up. What is this gorgeous crispy chicken sandwich? As if the hot honey, sweet & spicy pickles and Duke’s mayo weren’t enough, the blend of all this deliciousness is enough to send any person’s taste buds into overdrive. I would drive back just for this. And don’t even get me started on the pies. All made in house. The peanut butter and chocolate was out of this world! Henry’s Sandwich Station is worth the drive wherever you are!
